Suspect Tries To Steal Car But Unable To Drive | C & S Lock & Security
An armed robbery in New Orleans was thwarted when the car thief was unable to start the car he was intending to steal.
According to police reports a woman was unloading groceries from her car when a man accosted her from behind and held a gun up to her neck demanding the key fob to her car. The woman then started screaming and the attacker grabbed the key from her and pushed her to the ground.
The assailant then attempted to start the car he was planning to steal but was unable to due to inexperience with a standard transmission. At this point a neighbor approached the scene to see what the commotion was and then the robber proceeded to threaten her with the gun.
The attack finally came to an end when the assailant gave up trying to start the car and fled the scene. Thankfully no shots were fired and no one was seriously injured.
Police are now attempting to identify and track down the assailant from images captured on a nearby surveillance security camera. If arrested and convicted the suspect could face between 10 and 99 years in prison.
